Postdoctoral Researchers

Candidates should possess a Ph.D. degree or be on the verge of obtaining one in fields such as main group chemistry, organometallic chemistry, coordination chemistry, synthetic methodologies or related disciplines. Strong proficiency in English (encompassing reading, writing, listening, and speaking) is required, along with the ability to effectively draft scientific papers.


Compensation and Benefits

1. Salary

Grade A Postdoctoral Researchers: Annual pre-tax salary of 350,000 RMB.

Grade B Postdoctoral Researchers: Annual pre-tax salary of 200,000 RMB.

The university will cover social insurance and housing fund contributions. Additional stipends may be provided by the research group based on qualifications. Candidates selected for the Postdoctoral Innovation Talent Support Program (Boxin Plan) may receive combined national and institutional support, with total annual compensation up to 550,000 RMB (pre-tax).

2. A one-time living subsidy of 50,000 RMB per postdoctoral researcher from the Tianjin Municipal Government.

3. Eligibility to apply for university transitional housing according to “Nankai University Young Faculty Temporary Housing Management Guidelines”.

4. Children’s enrollment (primary school and kindergarten) equivalent to those for tenured faculty.

5. Upon employment, candidates will be recognized as intermediate-level professional technical staff. A postdoctoral certificate will be awarded upon program completion. Eligibility for national and Tianjin postdoctoral policies, including grant applications and international project opportunities.

6. With approval from the mentor and university, paid opportunities for international research exchanges at world-leading institutions as a jointly-trained postdoctoral researcher.

7. Outstanding performers may transition to faculty positions at Nankai University via evaluation after the second employment term.


Ph.D. and Master’s Students

We welcome applicants with backgrounds in main group chemistry, organometallic chemistry, coordination chemistry, synthetic methodologies, or related fields.

Master’s Admissions: Managed by the College of Chemistry via national examinations or recommendation-based exemptions. Prospective students are encouraged to contact advisors early.
